I think this was the first time in a class I was truly able to express myself in a true way without the fear of shame or judgement.
I think it is important to have a course like this at school, because it provides a safe space to discuss our own identities and share our knowledge about different social issues, in a way that can be hard to achieve outside of this elective.

I loved the Rethinking Dominant Narratives in the Classroom workshop. It was a wonderful space to come together with practitioners from multiple fields to collaborate around how we can expand our perspectives and guide our students to do the same. Marine provided multiple activities that could be put into use immediately and the discussions in the class left me feeling inspired and excited to do more work in this space. I would recommend this course for anyone who has an interest in finding ways to challenge the status quo – whether you are new to this idea or already experienced, there is a lot of great content here!
Facilitating Anti-Oppression Work in the Classroom provides an excellent opportunity to engage with others that are concerned with this all-important work. The facilitators did an excellent job at keeping everyone interested, while maintaining a personal exchange that allowed all participants to feel heard and appreciated throughout. I highly recommend the workshop!
Mike and Marine are excellent facilitators. They created a safe environment which encouraged trust and insightful discussions. The exercises we looked at were hands on and great suggestions were given for application in the classroom.
