Jared Michaud
Jared Michaud is a classical baritone, educator, and dialogue facilitator whose work explores how musical practice can create conditions for dialogue across cultural, linguistic, and social boundaries. Alongside his performance career, he has developed a practice centered on using voice, improvisation, and collaborative music-making as tools for communication, listening, and collective expression.
He has served as Dialogue Facilitator and Assistant Conductor for the Jerusalem Youth Chorus, an Israeli/Palestinian music and dialogue program. In the UK, he has worked with Lewisham Urban Opera, devising original operas with community members through collaborative creation processes grounded in storytelling, music, and theatre. At the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, he has also led dialogue and musical improvisation sessions that use spontaneous music-making as a way to break down barriers, support expression, and enable open dialogue. He has also facilitated at youth leadership programs including Maine Youth Leadership and Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp, using creative facilitation methods to build confidence, agency, and group cohesion with young teenagers.
Across these contexts, Jared’s work consistently uses music not only as performance, but as a shared language for connection, making dialogue more accessible, embodied, and possible.
